I'm blessed to say that I turn down more work than I'm able to do. I will only do two inspections a day, instead of trying to squeeze three in, as I will not compromise the quality of the inspection; or the time devoted to writing a detailed report. I give each inspection my full attention, and will not rush for the sake of making more money.
I evaluate everything I can see and get my hands on, from the basement slab or crawl space floor, to the ridge vent on the roof, and everything in between. The State only requires Home Inspectors to report on material defects (an item that would cause an adverse value of the property), but I try and report on everything in the home, from the large defects, to even a door that binds in a jamb.
