Flew into Florida on a Monday from Illinois to look at a 3BR/2BA home. Did not have a Home Inspector. Searched Google, found 3, left messages for all. Only one called back and I was not satisfied with the company's online ratings. Received a referral for Mr. Douglas so I called him and left a message on his voicemail. He returned my call and was easy to work with. He asked, "where is the property located and when would you like to meet?" I answered and he said, "I would like to do your inspection and it will cost xyz. I made an appointment for Tuesday. The next morning Rick arrived on time, stepped out of a big white pickup, introduced himself, gave me a firm handshake and immediately got to work. He suggested I join him and stop him if I had any questions. He was very knowledgeable, answering all my questions while constantly on the move. From the roof, to the rooms, the appliances to the electrical outlets, the air conditioning, water heater, pipes, windows, doors, garage and even the doorbell, Mr. Douglas made me feel confident in his skills. Rick was professional and thorough and had a multi page report, with photographs, including areas of concern highlighted, available to me online within 24 hours. I made an offer on the house the next day and am confident Rick alerted me to everything and anything I have to repair or replace. I am convinced I couldn't find a more thorough, experienced person in the Home Inspection profession than Mr. Douglas and since I am spending my life savings on a retirement homebased on his professional observations I took this time to share this with whoever comes after me.
