Q: What happened to the Extra Care program?
The Extra Care program was replaced with the Homebuyer PLUS program on March 31st, 2022.
Homebuyer PLUS took many of the learnings from the Extra Care program. It improved upon them to ensure Homebuyers continue to be protected and have a positive experience with the program.
Q: I received a discount as part of Extra Care. Will I still receive that?
Some of our Inspectors have historically received a discount for being a member of Extra Care if they met certain criteria (such as uploading and distributing all their inspection reports through the HomeGauge Homebuyer Dashboard). Our team will be reaching out to any affected Extra Care members with clarity regarding their discount going forward.
Also, as an added benefit of being a member of the Extra Care program, we are delaying the price increases for you that went into effect on 4/4. Your new price will be reflected in your next billing statement on or after May 24th.
Q: Why are some Extra Care discounts going away?
Extra Care Legacy discounts were a promotional discount to encourage Inspector participation in the Extra Care program from September 2018 to March 2022.
After analyzing the participation of those receiving discounts, HomeGauge reconsidered its approach to how and to whom it should offer discounts.
However, their discount will be extended as a thank you to those Inspectors who actively participated in the program.
Q: How did HomeGauge determine who will receive an extension?
To consider the variability of seasonality, we reviewed each company’s participation from the previous 12 months.
We established criteria where we believe the Inspector aligned with the program’s spirit.
This criterion was to average 7 or more uploaded monthly inspection reports that the Homebuyer views. If a company does not meet these guidelines, that company will no longer receive the discount.
Q: What will happen to my discount if I do not meet the criteria?
Accounts that did not meet the participation criteria will have their discounts canceled on May 24, 2022.
You will be moved to a monthly plan that reflects your new pricing without the Extra Care discount on that date.
If you prefer to pay annually, please contact Support at (828) 254-2030, option 1, to update your billing to be annual again.
We didn’t think it was fair to automatically charge anyone the full annual price for Services by default if they wanted time to assess how they would prefer to pay with the price increases in effect.
Q: How much will I be charged on May 24th if I lose my discount?
As an added benefit of being an adopter of the Extra Care program while it was running, we have been delaying our price increases that went into effect on 4/1. These will start being reflected in your next billing statement on or after May 24th:
- If you currently have a HomeGauge ONE Subscription, your new monthly rate will be the base loyalty rate of $89 per month.
- If you currently pay for Services individually, your new monthly rate will be the base rate of $59 per month for the first license and $50 per month for each additional license.
Q: What would happen to my discount if I did meet the criteria?
HomeGauge would like to reward the Inspectors actively participating in the program throughout its time by extending their discount through July 2022.
Q: How much will I be charged on May 24th without losing my discount?
As an added benefit of being actively engaged in the Extra Care program, we have been delaying the price increases that went into effect on 4/1. These will start being reflected on your next billing statement on or after May 24th.
- If you currently have an HG ONE Subscription, your new monthly rate will be $59.
- This reflects a $30 discount off the base loyalty rate of $89 monthly.
- If you currently pay for Services individually, your new monthly rate will be $29 for the first license and $20 for each additional license.
- This reflects a $30 discount off the base rate of $59 per month for the first license and $50 per month for each additional license.
Q: Could I lose my discount after July, even if I still meet the criteria?
HomeGauge will continue to review the benefits of the Extra Care legacy discount every 3 months.
The next review period will be in July 2022.
More discounts could be removed during the next review period.
Q: Can I get a Services discount for Homebuyer Plus?
The Extra Care program is being replaced by Homebuyer PLUS, and HomeGauge is not currently offering any new promotions for this program.
Q: I have an Extra Care badge on my website. What will happen with this badge?
Feel free to proudly display the Extra Care badge to indicate your desire to improve the customer’s experience beyond the inspection.
If we introduce a Homebuyer PLUS website badge in the future, we will send that to you.
Q: Does ending the Extra Care program mean our Homebuyers will receive unsolicited phone calls about Insurance?
No. With Homebuyer Plus, we are extending and expanding on many of the Homebuyer protections that existed in the Extra Care program.
Homebuyers must CHOOSE to opt-in to receive any communications from our Insurance partner. If they are not interested, they will not be contacted. Period.
Q: I am a company owner who is keeping the discount, will this extend to any new Inspectors I add to my subscription?
The discount will not be applied to any new inspectors who join your company. You will pay the regular pricing, without a discount.
